Does Notes crash every time you try launch it and reporting the below error?

Application Specific Information:

Looks like a serious issue but in reality its just your ‘Mail’ application database that needs to be upgraded.

Quick Fix:

Step #1 – Open ‘Mail’ and follow the instructional prompts to update the database.

Step #2 – Re-Open ‘Notes’.

You should now have a happy ‘Notes’ session running on OSx Mountain Lion.

EDIT

We’re had reports of another error message affecting users with Exchange Accounts in Notes. This Quick Fix is for you:

Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception ‘NSInternalInconsistencyException’, reason: ‘Folder class mismatch for {.

Quick Fix:

Step #1 – Delete your exchange account from the Mail, Contacts & Calendars pane in System Preferences.

Step #2 – Go to Finder, click “Go” in the menu bar, click “Go to Folder” and type in “~/Library” (without the quotes) in the box. This will take you to your user Library folder.

Step #3 – Use the search box in the finder and type in “com.apple.notes” and click “Library” in the search bar that appears. This should now find several folders and files related to the Notes app. Rename or delete everything except the help files (with the lifesaver icons on them).

Step #4 – Restart your Mac. Put your exchange account back into System Preferences, you can go ahead and activate the Notes sync service.

Step #5 – Open Notes and it should be working now!
